We are only as strong as the roots that grow beneath us. Scripture tells us that Christ is the lone foundation we can rely upon (Matt. 7:24-27, Luke 6:47-49, 1 Cor. 3:9-14); Christ alone is where we must start our process of discovery and growth. At Christus Rex Coaching, our priority is to use Scripture, prayer, and personal reflection to help build this foundation. Once built, we dive even deeper to help the individual understand their calling and what barriers are preventing them from reaching it.
Once you've found these barriers, we dismantle and get passed them so that you can live your life with purpose. Guaranteed. Our approach uses a mix of neurochemistry, positive psychology, and Biblical coaching to help all our clients turn their career into a calling.
Is Coaching Biblical?
We believe that not only is coaching Biblical, but that there is strong evidence within the Bible to support our practice. Since the Creation Story, God uses coaching through meaningful questioning to bring humanity to realizations about their actions (Gen. 3:9-13). God uses this tool throughout the Old Testament, despite His omniscience, as a means of meeting us where we are in our thinking and guiding us to make the right decisions (Exodus 4:2, Jonah 4:4, 1 Kings 19:9).
In the New Testament, the utility of coaching is further reinforced through Jesus's teachings. Jesus used questions to bring individuals towards their faith (Matthew 16:15, Mark 5:30), object to common practice (Luke 15:4, Luke 22:27, John 7:23), and connect with individuals' emotions and motivations (Matthew 9:4, Luke 12:25, John 8:46).
Although we know we cannot begin to compare to the power of these tools in the Hands of our Savior, we wish to imitate Him and continue to use these techniques. We believe coaching conversations bring light to the struggles of fellow believers and allow us to grow towards Christ (Proverbs 27:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:11, James 4:17).
